Live satellite map: about 17,000 objects at their real positions

Space Radar draws the active satellites in orbit round the Earth, about 17,000 of them, each where its orbit says it is for this second, in 3D, in your browser, with no account.

Our saved element sets list 16,747 active objects (CelesTrak's active catalogue, saved 15 October 2026) and 11,152 Starlink satellites, which are mostly the same ones counted again.

What the map shows, and how

Each satellite's orbital elements are published by CelesTrak, and the page of the map works out where the satellite is at the instant on its clock (a model called SGP4), so the clock can be moved to the past or the future and the satellites move with it. Satellites are drawn larger than life: at their true size they would be invisible.

Measured or computed? The elements are measured by tracking and republished; the positions are computed from them, and the older the elements the less a position can be trusted. Every card says how old its elements are. The count above is of objects listed on the day given, not a count of working satellites.
